Socrative

Socrative is one of many Web-based student response systems that have gained popularity with librarians and other instructors in recent years, providing opportunities to increase student engagement in the classroom. With cloud-based Teacher and Student versions, Socrative does not require additional hardware or software and is an alternative to traditional “clicker” student response systems. While Socrative does not provide the option to collect responses via SMS text messaging, the flexibility of creating and responding to questions via the Socrative Web sites or native iOS and Android applications takes advantage of the increase in Internet-enabled student-owned devices or other devices found in many contemporary classrooms.
