abstract = "Old Maps Online is a geoportal that provides access to 54 member institutions with more than 400,000 digitized historical maps. These maps are generally of high quality. The portal has both a map interface and an option for text-based searches. The search tools and the site overall
are clear and easy to use, albeit somewhat limited. The sites and collections to which it supplies access often provide more sophisticated search, display, and analytical tools. It is currently managed by volunteers, including members of the staff of Klokan Technologies. It is a free resource
and has continually added member institutions since its inception in 2012.",
