World Politics Review

World Politics Review (WPA) is an independent online publication that has produced original analysis and commentary on current international affairs, global issues, and world politics since 2006. Sold mostly to academic and special libraries by EBSCO, World Politics Review is available as a standalone website and as a database on the EBSCOhost platform. It delivers an enjoyable browsing experience on the website as well as the powerful search engine of EBSCO’s platform. Both platforms are mobile-friendly, while license terms are reasonable. With its self-proclaimed liberal internationalist worldview emphasizing issues relevant to Anglo-American policymakers, WPA delivers a satisfying throwback to diplomacy and multilateralism, offering an alternative to fiery fledgling websites such as The Intercept or grizzled warhorses such as Foreign Affairs. WPA delivers depth, newsiness, and nuance. For nongovernmental organizations and universities strong in international affairs, WPA is a sound investment, though its non-scholarly output and the widespread availability of comparable content for free online may give some libraries pause.
