CQ Supreme Court Collection
Aimed at beginning to intermediate legal researchers, the CQ Supreme Court Collection (CQSCC) is an authoritative resource to find organized information, analysis, and summaries of Supreme Court case law. It incorporates auxiliary material including biographies of Supreme Court Justices,
an encyclopedia centering on the Supreme Court, and voting histories of justices. CQSCC analyzes Court-issued opinions, and provides explanations and data tools to research the roles of justices, their opinions, and opinion alignment among the justices, with political voting bloc breakdowns
available. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) and its powers are explained in an historical overview that places Court decisions in context, and includes the traditions of the Court, giving researchers a complete picture to start their discovery of legal interpretations of enacted
law. The collection includes documents from the Constitution to today, culminating with a helpful glossary of legal terms. Each case is summarized, with a link to the actual text on FindLaw. Cases, including landmark Key Cases, are browseable and searchable. CQ Press Key Cases—identified
as having the most impact on legislation and society—is a useful feature for students and researchers looking for materials on the judicial branch of the United States government.
