PubMed Central (PMC)

PubMed Central (PMC) is a free, full-text archive from the United States National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). Its contents focus on biomedical and life sciences journal literature. Publishers voluntarily participate in the repository. Author manuscripts are typically submitted to PubMed Central to comply with research funding agencies’ policies, including the NIH Public Access Policy (National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine 2011). There are currently over 4 million articles archived in PubMed Central (National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine n.d.).
