Knowledge Unlatched

Since the launch of the Knowledge Unlatched project in 2012, a total of 106 Open Access monographs from established scholarly publishers have been released on the OAPEN and HathiTrust platforms. Library participation in the program has grown from the 297 libraries that participated in the Pilot collection to include 380 libraries that have participated in pledging for at least one collection. The Knowledge Unlatched project is demonstrating that libraries and publishers can work together to develop an Open Access model for humanities and social sciences monographs that supports quality scholarly publishing at a reasonable price.
