Users can identify the most cited articles on topics and use Scopus’ proprietary metrics to evaluate the prestige of journals. Scholars can use Scopus for literature reviews, identify journals for publication, and evaluate professors being reviewed for tenure. Scopus has more comprehensive coverage of journals than Web of Science. This review strongly emphasizes an analysis of Scopus’ content selection and inclusion of journals from potentially predatory publishers.
