Accessible Archives
Accessible Archives (AA) is a suite of full text historical collections that include period newspapers and magazines, and county level information for select U.S. counties and states. The author first reviewed AA in 2006 for The Charleston Advisor, and found that the collection
remains a significant, rich source for primary eighteenth- and nineteenth-century materials. Accessible Archives’ collections are available together as a complete package, but are also “segmented into parts that are available separately, thus allowing customers to tailor
the content to their particular needs and to acquire a complete collection over time” (Accessible Archives 2016e). Many improvements to site navigation and searching have been implemented since my last review in 2012.
