Congress.gov

Congress.gov is the new legislative research tool from the Library of Congress. In September 2014, after two years of development, Congress.gov shed its “beta” label with a host of new features and enhancements. Its predecessor, THOMAS <http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.php> will be retired after the close of the 2015 fiscal year after all data has migrated to the new platform. Congress.gov brings new tools and technology to a favorite product of government and legal researchers allowing content to be discovered through both basic and advanced search options with post-search filters. Congress.gov offers a variety of content types, and is updated daily with official versions of recent government materials. While Congress.gov does not yet have comprehensive coverage, and though there some features have yet to be added, it is a powerful next-generation research tool that will provide increased transparency and accessibility to government information.
