PILOTS (Published International Literature on Traumatic Stress)
PILOTS (Published International Literature on Traumatic Stress) is a free bibliographic database produced by Veterans Administration’s National Center for PTSD. With over 50,000 citations, it indexes not only combat post-traumatic stress disorder, but strives to encompass all
literature on the consequences of traumatic stress. The coverage is multidisciplinary, international, and historical, and the content (updated monthly) includes books, articles, and gray literature. The database is mounted on the ProQuest platform, with basic and advanced search options, as
well as standard search refinements. A carefully constructed thesaurus and an extensive list of instruments used in the literature make the database reliable and consistent. This database should be listed on all public library and university library Web sites as an authoritative research tool.
