Beyond WorldCat: Accessing Scholarly Output in Books and Edited Monographs

Academic output in scholarly monographs, particularly in edited book chapters, has always been a unique area from the standpoint of access and scholarly impact. New finding aids for this material have the promise to increase the use and visibility of scholarly monographs from the perspective of both the librarian and the researcher. The author discusses several issues surrounding scholarly monographs and gives a brief overview of tools for locating this important resource for academic research.
