QR Codes—What's the Payoff?
With increasing experimentation with QR codes by tech-savvy librarians, professionals may be starting to notice, and question, their use. QR codes are merely “links”, in both the general and Internet senses of the word. This article explores some examples and potential uses
of a tool that might be best thought of as a form of colocation, a way to link physical spaces with mobile-friendly web resources including research guides, catalog entries, library services, social media, discussions, and geo-location tools involving virtual or augmented reality.
