However, Blekko stands apart through its ability to allow users to create customizable vertical searches. An individual can search selected portions of the internet using Blekko's predefined slashtags or by creating a custom slashtag. Additionally, Blekko removes spam from search results by not indexing known spam Web sites, thereby giving better search results. A unique feature of Blekko is the ability to view search engine optimization data for a Web site in real time. Searches can be embedded in Web sites through RSS feeds or search boxes.
